SUSTAINABLE FORMS OF TOURISM ON THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

NAUTA is contributing to an International project for sustainable forms of tourism on the Galapagos Islands, organized by the Faculty of Architecture of the ‘Universidad San Francisco’ from Quito, Ecuador.

NAUTA’s contribution focuses on testing typologies of resort comparable to the ‘Diffused Hotel model’, developed by the office in the south of Italy. These types contribute to solve in short time and with very small budgets the hospitality problem even in very delicate landscape contexts. The preservation and optimization of the existing properties facilitates the feasibility of the projects, improves the local economy, yet preserves the environment from being transformed by new developments.
